Nicky Nook and Grizedale are a most beautiful and accessible landscape. Our walk starts in Holme Wood near Grizedale Bridge and climbs the steep flank of Nicky Nook from the edge of Grizedale reservoir. During the climb are glimpses of the reservoir and the wonderful panorama of the Bowland Hills from Harrisend to Hazlehurst Fell.

On reaching the airy summit of Nicky Nook, the character of the landscape changes, the more extensive views across Morecambe Bay become familiar during our descent to the road near Scorton before we prepare ourselves for the return journey through the beautiful and picturesque valley of Grizedale.
