This is a delightful walk and can be undertaken any time of the year, a circular walk visiting this beautiful landscape.

Initially we circumnavigate Abbeystead House before crossing farmland that probably hasn't changed in centuries. We visit 'The Shepherds Church' before reaching the River Wyre via Lentworth Hall returning upstream to Stoops Bridge.

Probably the biggest impact upon this landscape was the building of the reservoir, the engineering achievements are well represented at the fantastic curved weir wall, yet we also remember the 'Abbeystead Disaster' when 16 people were killed and 22 injured, they were attending a presentation in 1984 when an explosion ripped through the building.

The last part of the walk is through a woodland and wetland landscape teeming with wildlife.
